2027 Mercedes-Benz C-Class Electric

And always be in a loaner? :-)
I believe over 50% of MBZ are leased, which offers lower payments and avoids long-term issues.
On the flip-side, many owners want the latest tech, prefer to drive new, etc. and their cars are always under warranty.

Some owners can afford to do this, others choose to do so regardless of financial consequences.
I've seen a lot of the latter; it scares the heck outta me.

By the way, this is not unique to Mercedes, but you already knew that.

You just described the typical MB owner. After their 2-3 yr lease is up and they turn them in for another, that is a very good used MB that's been dealer serviced. They certify them and give them a better warranty that new. I've gotten a couple like this. Now on the new ones, I don't know. Since they went to 4cyl with thin oil, I'm not interested.

The guy across the street has one of those BiTurbo AMG Roadsters, or whatever you call them. All I know is, the sound is pure heaven! His wife drives a Model Y Performance. I think they should race down the street...

I would humbly suggest that the twin turbo 12 on the SL600 sounds better - but even that is likely overshadowed by the ‘68 427 ‘Vette!

In all seriousness, knowing how an older Mercedes can eat you alive for maintenance costs, I recommend that people lease a new Mercedes, or trade them early. Sure, the cost of that path is high, but it is also predictable.

I’ve been through two spark plug changes on the the V-12s that included coils and plugs. Two coils firing 12 plugs each, and 24 genuine MB iridium plugs. MB plugs on some engines, not mine, but some, are indexed and aftermarket plugs cause problems. My cost, with a 20% discount on parts, and zero cost for labor, was $2,800. Retail on the spark plug change including labor these days is over $6,000.

That’s a spark plug change, mind you. A routine 60,000 mile service item. Not a major repair.

Lease it and avoid unpleasant surprises. Let Mercedes take the risk.

It's all about garage space... His car is beautiful Looks kinda like this. I should sneak in their house, grab the key fob and I'd be gone!

Actually I run 229.5 5W-40 in my 4 cylinder 2018 CPO E Class. It loves it, never had an issue.
Everyone here knows that thin oils are only being specified for CAFE purposes, unless it's some kind of Toyota or KN car that has reduced bearing clearances.

I remember way back where it was printed that a 1969 Mercedes 500SEL was faster than a 427 'Vette in the 1/4 mile!
