2025 Dodge Charger Daytona EV

Yes, the 392 Wrangler, lol.

Yeah, my dealer still has the three they ordered (they have sold the Wagoneer S though!). They are, objectively, a very neat, and fast, car, but as I said earlier in the thread, I don't think the people they thought would be interested in this, are interested in this:

As someone who loves my ICE's I also have an EV. For me there are two reasons I won't buy a Charger EV.

1) It's not quick enough
2) The fake V8 audio track is just soooooooooooooo stupid

It’s quite the turnoff. It’s like it was meant to mock EVs which would have been a funny strategy if it was one of the fastest cars on the market.

It's gimmicky, but you can turn it off. Also, it's not unique to EV's, several luxury marques have been piping "engine sounds" through speakers, this is just the absurd evolution of that approach, lol.

My dealer, the Stage 2 he's driving, he has it turned off now, which is where I'd leave it.

I was interested to see how far they'd go with faster trims (Stage 3, SRT?) but it seems now that this was stillborn and I doubt we'll see any further evolution.

Name one Amercian brand that has more v8 muscle than FCA. They stuffed the hemi in literally everything from chrysler 300, aspen, dodge charger, challenger, magnum, durango, jeep grand cherokee, wagoneer, ram 1500, 2500... did I miss one?

Yeah, so then with all that glorious v8 history unmatched by any other brand, lets, in the space of one year, drop the hemi from everything and see what happens, just for fun... Bonus points for adding grade school sound effects, it'll absolutely sell like hotcakes I'm sure.
Agree 100%. Shame of it is that the hurricane SO and HO are terrific motors, but if you force the customer to take them, instead of giving the option, you undermine a lot of great work into bringing these newer designs to market. Jamming things down people’s throats, particularly when those people are your customers, rarely works out well.

I'm well aware of the piped in sound. Even my GTI did it. I'd have it off too. It just seemed like Dodge was holding the car back by not making it go after the Plaid given the history of Dodge and speed. I'm sure faster is coming too, but I think they really screwed up not releasing that one right away. It got nearly ignored with the current models.

My friend's drop dead gorgeous BMW i8 plays engine sounds through the radio.

did you buy this thing?
No, lol. I don't have THAT much disposable income :ROFLMAO:

It would be a FUN car, but the Jeep doesn't owe me anything (though it consumes an obscene amount of fuel, see the fuel economy thread...) but I would be concerned about long term support, given the limited production run, while my SRT has increased in value and has been a wonderful vehicle, and, given the WK2 having a very long production cycle, I'm not concerned about long-term support.
