2025 Dodge Charger Daytona EV

I'll wait for them to make the gas version then backpedal on killing the hemi and let us have one with a v8 again.

I don't follow other cars too closely, but I believe there will be other versions that are faster.
What's the range?
I'm sure there will be based on how Dodge does things. I'm sure a Demon is coming, it just was unfortunate that they didn't do that right away because this car being Dodge's big deal performance car is a bit of a yawn with the current trims.

Constantly releasing slightly faster EVs doesn't have the same effect that the V8 cars do. The EVs are stupid fast these days as we know and I think Dodge missed out terribly by not taking king of the hill for the price point.

The new m3 is supposedly super well sorted.
I think that's true. I could see how 2,100lbs could be used to make the chassis feel more solid and quiet with the right suspension. I think the detriments because of that are likely higher for what I'm looking for in a car though.

Anyone under the age of 55 really doesn't remember 60's, and 70's muscle cars directly. Maybe they want the retired folks to buy these cars. Time will tell. It will be super easy to compile the demographics on the purchasers.

We were in Vero Beach this weekend where i saw my first one. Attractive but didn't move the needle to WOW! I thought i would like it much more in-person.

Did you see the base price? The Scat Pack upgrade is a hell of an option price-wise.
The base vehicle at the US equivalent of ~$53K Canadian would be pretty compelling at ~$37K US before any incentive or discount. I would want the 4 door though.

As per Xe.com at 11:44 CST 2/10/25
53,395.00 Canadian Dollars = 37,282.82 US Dollars
1 CAD = 0.698227 USD
1 USD = 1.43220 CAD

I think the pricing structure they've chosen by putting a bit extra into the car has backed them into a corner. If they could have hit a lower price point on the R/T I think it would make some moves just on appearance alone.

That first photo in blue is awesome. Yeah, Im one of them late 60s early 70s look but this, ultra refined and mountains more powerful>
*LOL* Man enough to say, impossible for me, it's out of my price range unless I get rid of all my other toys and then even then ... .
But I'll take it if you give me one!
(y) You said word for word exactly my thoughts on it. Most of the time what I type somehow does not accurately reflect in the best words what is inside me on a subject. Some of us (me #1 of course) can type faster that we can think. :ROFLMAO:

I'm old enough to want a fun muscle car and young enough to desire the electric experience. Never even considered an EV until I rode in a VW ID4 in December. Wow - It was exceptionally quick! Changed my mind and desire for one.

So I'd have to say, this is my kind of car. Love the looks. Love it being an actual muscle car and not some bulbous crossover. Would love a decent price tag though. And I can't think of worse timing to release an EV. I hope it takes off, but have a feeling the gas version is going to sell better.

Not surprisingly, this car is still at the dealership, price right now is down considerably from sticker, $86K I think he told me? Took my two boys out for a ride in the red one that my buddy has been DD'ing, it has all the latest software updates which I think may explain the difference in how it drove compared to the white one this thread is based on.

It's nuts.

You give it a decent jab at 30km/h and the tires light up. It paws for traction at the front like the i4 M50 I drove did, but without the torque steer (which I mentioned earlier). It was VERY eager to just "GO", they seem to have modified the roll-in, as the amount of power it instantly gives you is actually shocking (as evidenced by it easily breaking traction while you are rolling) and how hard it hits you, throwing you back in the seat.

Range estimation still seems to be a crap shoot. I left with 328km of indicated range and 87% battery. I drove it probably 10km and arrived back at the dealership with 327km of indicated range and 87% battery :ROFLMAO:

Super fun car, but still not sure I'd own one.

The ID.4 is a pretty solid experience. Just wait until you drive an actual fast EV though! It's mind blowing.

Nothing negative to say of the ID.4. We initially ordered one, but after an 8 month wait and no car, we bought a Tesla instead. Now I've just gotten used to what they offer and would buy another.

Muscle cars were originally performance V8 engines in an American intermediate size car offered at an affordable price; the GTO.
Here is the modern version, $55K MSRP. Nothing touches it for the money.

Very fast! Note that he removes all the seats (except the driver seat) for this run though, and is running 18" wheels. Helps that the car is light to begin with however.

The trick is to preheat the battery. Some say the voltage dump generates 600 HP because that's what it would take to go this fast.
You could explain that far better than I.

What's really different about the Highland MP3, beyond the suspension, is the old car's power dropped off after 85 MPH. This car pulls 60 to 130 in 10 seconds.

I drove home from Petaluma to Los Gatos today. Around the San Mateo area, 280 southbound, is wide open stretches. Mid day mid week 280 is wide open. Cruise at 75 and "accidently" touch the throttle and you are close to triple digits, no sweat. Floor it and it's flat out scary. Don't get a ticket...

It sounds like they jacked this thing up an EV. If they had thrown a Hellcat motor in it then I might find some interest in it even if I still wouldn’t be a buyer.
I've read the platform was designed for ICE and EV. If true, it sounds like Stellantis was never 100% behind it.

The plan was to also have the Hurricane I-6 all along. I get the impression too that they really weren’t fully onboard with EV, but I’d at minimum say they were trying to make the car have the widest possible audience even though it was planned to axe all V8s.
