2024 Silverado EV - Revealed

You charge at night when the rates are low. And before NEM II solar was a no brainier. Charging an EV maximizes the value of the solar asset. I expect solar to get more advantageous going forward, but who the heck knows?
That’s a good point. I forgot about peak/off peak. I only have the option for flat rate here.

I can’t keep up anymore - I was driving random backroads chasing rain after a 4WD trip to the coast (to rinse underside of Jeep) and find myself in a 4000 acre solar farm I didn’t even know they built …
Well, our wind turbines don’t hide that well 🙈

Here's the 2025 Silverado trim availabilities and ranges.

Does this mean every existing mileage and towing test is now pinned to the highest priced option?

Have existing tests been done with Max range or extended range trucks?

Why is there a 32 mile diff between the 2 max range trucks?

Weight, Tires? IDK That's a lot of dough.

Thats the thing - who knows?

Each unique config needs to be tested as far as what it really does and equally important how it charges.

1/2 tons are brutally expensive anyway.

This is the starting price - the dealer sets the real price, well probably see ADM for a while before supply catches up.

These show a lot of promise.

Rated at 440 miles. Actually went 440 at 70 MPH!

I’d get the new LT trim if I got one. $68k after rebate and ~400 miles of real-world range.

RST lists two range specs and I didnt hear him say if this was an extended range or max range truck?

Is it 50 miles over the spec?
Or 20 miles under the spec?

That's the second channel that has gotten that result now that I know of. Talk about delivering. If I needed a truck and had the means for this price this could put me back in a GM vehicle.

It's getting close, and is the current one to pick with a few exceptions.

I'm never going to take a 9100 LB vehicle down more than a dirt road.

If one is offroading at all the Rivian still wins.

It's probably the least efficient EV truck made but simply overcomes this fault with the biggest battery by far, bigger than GM states, this under reporting size seems to be part of the Ultium (new name coming apparently) family, or charging efficiency is somehow way worse than everything.

No NACS port, no car play, although the WT gets car play????

24" tire with 8 lug wheels at 61LB this is going to hurt at replacement time.

Even with all the downsides I still dig it. Enough to depart with 100K? Not yet.

I don't need a truck and I don't want to drive something that heavy either. I'd have to look past the weight though if I wanted an EV truck with that range.

Cost wise I probably do choose the Rivian over it. It's not the right type of vehicle for my use. I almost bought a Lightning when I was seeing them go for $52k-$56k for an XLT with the extended range battery. My local dealer was still a bit high and when I thought about it, I really didn't see the point in getting a truck.

If money was no object I'd have 3 trucks and about 20 cars. Reality gives me other results though. 😂

The 408 mile LT trim is now on dealer lots. Qualifies for the $7,500 Federal rebate too. 645 HP / 765 LB-FT torque. Tows 12,500 lbs.

I see they’ve also been previewing an upcoming 350+ mile version with a much cheaper LFP (lithium iron phosphate) battery pack.

The WT Max truck is a stripped down work truck with less HP than the RST Max Range luxury truck. The Max Range RST has 50% more horsepower than that of the WT.
I think also safe to say beside less HP, smaller tires and less weight as well in the Work Truck (WT)
A 7% penalty in range seems reasonable when you think about comparing the two.

Great chart. Thanks.

The question still stands though - what RST config was used in the 440 mile test - the 390 mile version, or the 460 mile version?

Im digging the RST.
