2022 KONA electric review ...

$44k for a subcompact EV? Hard pass unless there's $20k in rebates somewhere. Never mind, can't get it in Arizona.
I'm needing a car and really do want the performance of an EV. But I'm not rich and $50K "out the door" for Geo-Metro like efficiency, shoulder room, rear seat room and capability is just stupid beyond belief as far as I am concerned. Even the Model 3, which I absolutely love driving, is no bigger than a Nissan Sentra and does not suit my needs.

That Y photo took a long time to load, like 45 seconds. Must have come by boat.

The Kona in the test is much the same as the original which I've owned for 3 years. It's good but I'd not buy another one.

EDIT: ok , it's a 3, I forgot to read the post while wondering what's up with the slow loading.

That's not a Model Y. They come by truck; no boats from Fremont, CA.

Sorry, but a Sentra and Model 3 are WORLDS different as far as interior space inside. A friend of mine has a 2017 Sentra and I can barely fit inside. In the passenger seat my knees almost touch the dash. He always says “scoot the seat back” which I reply “it’s all the way back” and then we laugh.

My Model 3 may have had small seat bottoms, but there was plenty of room up front. The rear? Meh. It’s ok-ish.

I have a coworker with a 2014 Maxima that’s actually tiny inside too.

Looks to be about the size of a Focus, which poses no problem for me. Eye-watering price for a car that size, though. This is evidence that it'll be quite a while before I'll be in the market for an EV.

Maybe the older ones, but the 2022 Sentra has, to the exact cubic foot, the same interior volume as the model 3, 97 cubic feet. They are both near 72 inches wide, they are both 57 inches tall and the Model 3 is 2 inches longer.

Both have very comparable shoulder room, leg room and so on. The sentra does give up an inch in rear leg room. but that's due to the 2 addl inches of front leg room. Nissan does a good job of making the front seats move back more.

My point is that they do compare in size. Clearly not in performance. The Sentra looks like it is now up to $21,000 MSRP and has 484 mile highway range.

I rent the Sentra from time to time. I too was surprised to find it is the same size as a model 3. The Altima, by way of comparison, is bigger than the Model 3 and has a 631 mile highway range, which I can attest to, as it is achievable. The Accord is considerably bigger than any of the above.
