I have a 2020 Hyundai Kona limited with 235-45-r18 I think.
Can anybody give recs on some tires that aren't awful? I was eyeing the phantom hrx at discount. But there is zero reviews I think they are made by Kumho.
I appreciate any info thanks

edit I have run the same tires for the past ten years , the BF Goodrich comp as2s. I also need all season.

If you can push price a bit, a General G-Max-07 is a great tire. In your size it is $178 (price pulled from their hidden cart) a good bit over your pricing though, but it is a great tire and not like the top level in your size that are NOW $230 a tire. They will last longer then your BFGs and be quieter too. Otherwise look at Discounts lower end ones that they private label, as Egg_Head suggested.

I recently purchased a set of Milestar AW365 in that same size at DT. They matched an online price and even had a mfg. rebate ATT. Out the door was ~$100 ea. Very good tires, got a chance this winter to try their snow rating also. +++

I've had good luck with GT Radials
Yep, I've always had good luck with them too. If you don't need winter performance, the Maxtour is a decent tire, CR reports testing shows the only difference between it and the AS best tires, is winter grip, and 3/5 instead of 4/5 for wet braking.

GT Radial has a tire plant in South Carolina. Some of their tires are made in the USA. It is a Singapore based tire company.

If you can take the time to consider a counter opinion here, I used to buy the cheapest, 40K mile tires I could find at AT, but then it hit me that I was buying tires (and paying installation & lifetime rotation expenses) a lot more often, than I would if I was to buy 80K mile warranty tires. I moved to 80K mile tires, and I also get a nice prorate on my new set. Also, I noticed that the tire companies use their best stuff on their more expensive tires--the tires that scored the highest in braking tests were inevitably 80K mile tires.

Walmart has GT Radials on sale for $82 get a total price then go to Discount Tire on line and click on found it lower.

You get the cheaper tire price and also save on the installation.

I see Douglas A/S and Touring in this size on Walmart for ~$97/ea. Mounting/balance, taxes, fees will bring them closer to $130/ea. There are less expensive options as well.

I just replaced my tires on my 2021 Honda HRV Sport....225/50/18 with Continental Pro Contact TX and they were 149.00 each from Discount Tires...

Walmart is place to look.

I have Prinx H1 s on my 2013 Acura RDX and they capable in snow all seasons.
Since winter seems all but over how would you compare the value Prinx 1 vs Cross Climate 2? I will be needing new tires for next winter. I can get a set of Prinx for less $400. The CC2 would close $900 maybe more. I know you said the CC2 were better in the snow but would you say they are worth the $500 extra in your experience?
