Hello, Gentleman.

I am looking for recommendations for a solid 0w20 that would be good for this 1.4 Turbo engine for 10,000 OCI. Thanks in advance.

I have a 1.4L turbo in a Jeep Renegade. I generally use Castrol 0w40 along with a Mann filter. Do I run it 10,000 miles between oil & filter changes? Nope. I change both at 5000 miles. I’m perfectly OK with throwing away good oil and money by changing to soon. Turbos spin on the high side of 20,000 RPM. Lots of heat develops if you have a heavy foot. Oil is cheap. Turbos are expensive.

Best Wishes, Mark Shuell.

Additional information...I will be driving this all hwy 108 miles round trip, five days a week.

Hello, Gentleman.

Well, Amazon has Penzoil Platinum 0w-20 full syn for $21.97 for a 5 quart jug. That should do well under the conditions you mentioned and is a reasonable bargain.

Any full synthetic 0w20 - I used Pennzoil Platinum myself but I would do it at 5k miles as you get fuel washing in those engines. My wifes' 18' with the 1.5l turbo reeked of fuel when I changes it at 5k mile intervals. Save yourself the problems down the road and change whatever 0w-20 at 5k miles.

I'd use a cheaper 0W-20 (SuperTech or Kirkland stuff from Costco) and just do more frequent OCI. Oil dilution is a known issue on those motors and small displacement motors with turbos tend to be especially hard on oil. My Kia with a 1.6T is harder on oil than anything I've ever owned.

My brother has a 2018 same engine/car. I just bought him some M1 0w20. With the rebate 2x5 qt jugs cost him $18 with tax. Can't beat that. That engine has significant oil dilution. He will start (car has 20k on it) doing his oil changes at 5k miles due to the oil dilution.

If you want to go 10k, try the 0w20 EP. With the rebate it will be about $10 per jug. 2 jugs should be about 3 oil changes for that engine. Pair it with a M1 filter (M1-110A) which has a huge surface area compared to other equivalent filters and you should be good. While you are at it, put in a K&N air filter. If you do, keep the old filter as cleaning/oiling the KN takes at least a day or two waiting for it to dry, you can put the old OEM filter in while waiting.

In my car (2013 accord) I use red line for a specific reason. Expensive but worth it for my application. I don't see any more seepage from valve cover gasket and in 2200 miles, car has consumed about 1/4 qt or less. Not enough to even bother topping off. This car used to consume alot when I was using M1 and RP.

Thanks for all the recommendations, folks. After reading all suggestions, I've decided to do scale this OCI back from 10,000 to 5,000 with Castrol Magnatec 0w20. I appreciate the help.

Why does GTX Ultraclean 0w20 even exist, it's gotta be one of the worst oils you can buy, 0w20 syn-blend that carries no manufacturers specs and probably barely meets API/ILSAC specs and it's not even priced well there's plenty of synthetics that can be had that carry approvals like Dexos1g2, even though it's a GM spec for any manufacturers small displacement turbo engines that call for 0w20 I wouldn't use anything less than D1G2 or when D1G3 comes along, I wouldn't use anything that's not at least D1G3 in a small displacement turbo engine calling for 0w20 unless some other manufacturer comes along with a more stringent widely available spec.
