This is the second UOA from my 2021 GT500 mustang with the 5.2 liter predator engine. This oil was in the sump for about 9 months (April to January) , but only driven sparingly during that time. This sample includes 3 track days at Circuit of the America's in Austin Texas, which equals about 4hrs of track time, with 1184 miles total on the oil.

This report is better then I expected, as I observed a good deal of glitter and non-magnetic metal in the filter.

The oil was replaced with Mobil 1 5w50 FS X2, as I intend more street driving in the near future and no track time.

Break-in along with harder use. It's a Mustang after all...right. Incredible the 5w-50 sheared down in just 1k. Not unexpected at those wide viscosity spreads. Thanks

Thanks for sharing. Interesting how fast the ZDDP is diminished from the oil from the VOA.

I have the Supercar 5w50 in my 3RS with about 700 miles. It's coming out in 300, so will post a UOA as well.

Do you track your 3rs?

Ford recommends oil changes every 4hrs of track time and given the depletion of the viscosity and additives I think their recommendation is based on some level of testing, as this oil is spent given my usage.

I'm debating switching oils for my next track day to something with more shear stability such as a synthetic 20w-50 or 15w-50. The aluminum wear has me concerned, especially the metal bits in the oil filter. There is definitely a piston skirt or a bearing with with some abnormal wear. However the engine is still under warranty, so I must adhere to the requirement for a API certified 5w50 synthetic. Maybe Amsoil or Redline?

Zinc and Phosphorus levels shouldn’t really change in a UOA, ZDDP gets depleted over time but the UOA test breaks molecules apart into atoms so it can’t tell the difference between intact ZDDP vs zinc and phosphorus floating around after the ZDDP was deposited and worn off.

Detergents will disappear over time since they’re getting caught up in the oil filter along with whatever gunk they’ve helped suspend in the oil. You’ll see that with boron.

The zinc/phosphorus levels just look low which is odd.
