The paint was fine last weekend. Online searches suggest this to be a somewhat common issue on Rams.

I assume the fix involves removing the front windshield and clearing the entire bedside in order to avoid clearcoat blending.

That could easily turn into a huge project depending on how the paint is adhered around the whole windshield and maybe beyond.
This will get interesting, yes windshield out job.
Are you suggesting that I wait until the peeling gets worse before getting this fixed?

What's on the back side of the peeling paint? Not the surface the paint was applied to, the actual backside of the paint? Did the paint fail to adhere to the primer or is the primer on the backside of the paint and the primer failed to adhere to the metal?

What is it with white paint? It seems that all manufacturers have had issues with white paint peeling off more so than other colors.
Honest question. Anyone know?

I wonder if this was a batch defect with that color of paint? My friend had a Ford Ranger 2010 (not the new one). Everyone I've seen had peeling paint on the roof on the driver's side.

It seems like there is a number of auto manufacturers are having trouble with white paint on vehicles since around 2014 or so. Wonder what changed?

Not a conclusive explanation, but a few theories abound.

Problem with White Auto Paint?

My concern would be playing whack a mole with paint failure. You may repair this for another spot to fail. Not sure if there is a way to test the other areas for a flaw that allows this to happen.

When was your 2020 built? Was it after the big 'C' disrupted everything, and build quality took a hit pretty much across the board?

Our 2017 Dually is always parked in the sun, and has no issues like this.

Mine was built in 3/2020, supposedly around 3/15.

Naw, man. Itsa 7 year old truck. Clean it with sandpaper, tape it off, apply some Rustoleum, then paint it with matching paint.
