Pretty amazing. A bit too much car for my needs/capabilities. I had previously driven a 2009 GT500, and have often thought about picking up an 07-2012 model. They are more straight line monsters than all out sports cars.

The use of a dual clutch is of course causing some "controversy" among purists. I think with this level of performance, and what the goal of the vehicle is the choice is justified. There is always the GT or GT350 with the manual.

I like it a lot. There might be a manual option in the next year or two after the DCT has been out for a while. Personally the DCT is a better option for everything if it is properly setup.

Get ready for insane dealer mark-up over MSRP.

The automatic transmission selector is a turn knob on the center console ... a bit unique.

Drove a '15 and will not go near one again. It felt like I was in my old '90 Tempo again. Otherwise a pretty driveway ornament.

Ya know, I have the distinct privilege of driving a very large number of high end cars. A few of which are in the multi million dollar club. Included in the list are the La Ferrari, Enzo, Mclaren F1, and too many lesser models to count. I can tell you, without a doubt, a 2015 GT500 is nothing like Ford's of yesterday. It's a Mustang, chock a block full of performance goodies and it drives exactly like that. It's not a focused track day car, it's a wildly fast street car with the bad habits dialed out. I find the GT500 a pleasure to drive.

High end performance for a fraction of the price. What's not to love.

There was a 2015 Shelby GT, which was just a modified 2015 GT Mustang with the Shelby name slapped on it after mods. There was no 2015 GT500 manufactured by Ford on their production line. There was however the 2015 GT350 and GT350R directly from Ford.

Correct, they stopped production of the very competent GT500 in December 2013.

Having driven an early 90s Tempo and a 2012 GT500, I'm going to say they're about as similar as dog food and the planet Mercury.

Good showing from Ford. Between this, the GT, and the GT350, Ford is showing they still have balls and teeth. Better than what some manufacturers are doing.

Yeah … the 2014 I mentioned is a true Shelby American SS … think he paid around $90k (brand new) back then … easily 800 HP … he is always grinning when he offers a ride … no thanks … I wear tan slacks most days …

Guess they hold value

Last summer I went a few times to the drag strip to watch and the Fords, Chevrolet and Dodges were all sub 12 second cars I was so impressed, There was a turbo ricer that ran 9 seconds !
