It's not an STI, so it quite likely is still on the original engine.Or the original engine.

And how many of your engines made it to 439k before failing? Any of them? Just because you sold all of them at 100k and they were “running fine” doesn’t mean any of them made it to the north side of 400k.Further down in the post on reddit, the OP states, "There's a connecting rod sized hole in the engine block." and the car makes "medical deliveries from Georgia to Minnesota." So, now we know how many licks it takes to get to the center of a Subaru engine.
No offense meant - 439,000 miles is a great run.And how many of your engines made it to 439k before failing? Any of them? Just because you sold all of them at 100k and they were “running fine” doesn’t mean any of them made it to the north side of 400k.
I don’t know anyone that would get nearly half a million miles from an engine and be unhappy, regardless of make or engine model.
Medical deliveriesHow does someone rack up that many miles in 3 years?
Makes senseMedical deliveries
This is why.About 400 miles a day. Everyday. Seven days a week.
All they should have had to do was call Total Seal…2019.
After Subaru figured out how to make low tension rings.
