Is there a preferred brand of belt and tensioner now?

I would always go with Gates in the past for any rubber product but want to see what the current consensus is.

When are you all changing these serpentine belts? Mine looks great after 5 years and 100,000 miles, zero cracks, etc.

RockAuto will tell you their consensus with the cute heart emoji's.

Search the forum for @OVERKILL 's thread where his water pump failed earlier than yours, so its probably good to inspect it very closely while you are there. If it were my truck, I change those things proactively before being stranded.

I have a Continental under the back seat. I think it has a Gates of unknown age on it. It had 182k on that hemi when I bought it. That has been one sweet motor.

Is this a "mild hybrid"? I ordered an actual Mopar for the more conventional tensioner on my non-profit's '19 because the pulley seemed to sound bad and the plastic gets bumpy or wavy ‐‐ what causes that??????

The mild hybrid also gets another tensioner that pushes straight down vertically and I don't think that one is bad so I'm going to try to leave it

No, not an etorque.

It all looks easy to do, just would rather not replace parts unnecessarily
