2019 Ram 1500 drive shaft rust

My 2019 Ram isn’t having the rust issues I’m hearing about, and I’m in the northern reaches of Minnesota where the salt flows freely on the roadway.

I’ve been under my Crown Victoria recently (and will be again due to my NOT securing a u-joint snap ring completely 😖). That has a big fat aluminum driveshaft while the rest of it has surface rust typical of a 10 year old car.

No, and neither are our 2010's, 2011's, 2012's and 2014's at work, which I posted a pic of in the other thread. We get them sprayed yearly at Rust Check though.

I had a rusty pickup, sat near salt water bays, ocean and was driven in the northeast salted roads. At about age 15 the driveshaft broke in two from all of the rust.

My 2018 f150 had surface rust all over the back axle within 6 months.

we need to bring back the candy cane paint job on driveshafts.
