I hope you painted them !!!!!!! You're in the rust belt, like me, in New York. If not, hit them with spray undercoating. I had the SAME problem in NY. The road salt ate them like cancer, then started leaking. The replacements, I took the cover off, and painted the WHOLE shock in caliper paint. Let it cure, put them together, then installed. SALT BELT SUX !!!!!!! Do the same with Quik Struts. Hand paint whatever I could with caliper paint, let em cure, then install. NO RUST THE WHOLE SALTY WINTER. Factory paint on those things is garbage.
