2019 Honda CRV 1.5L 51k mi; Kirkland 5w-30 4k mi

The viscosity likely dropped due to fuel dilution. Blackstone fuel dilution numbers are meaningless. Your viscosity looks like its Xw-20 range, so you made a right call using higher viscosity oil.

Find an oil that doesn't shear anywhere near-as-much.
Mobil-1 EP 5w30 may be another $10 more and worth it.
I used M1 EP 0W20 in my CRV and viscosity dropped from 8.5 to 5.8.

I had the same experience in Honda 2.0t with Mpbil1 EP. Fuel dilution can not be helped even with best oils

I would have asked them to rerun the viscosity and the flashpoint. I have my suspicions one of them is off. That's very low for an oil that likely started close to 11.0 cSt.

If you still have some oil from that lot number a VOA might be interesting. I have gotten 5W-30 in 5W-20 bottles before and it's possible you got the opposite.
