2019 Accord battery ... maintenance advice needed!

Similar experience with my Accord. Absolutely no warning that the battery was unhappy. I parked it after a 15 minute trip, ran into a store, came out, and the dash lit up like a Christmas tree and the starter just clicked. I would have noticed if it gave any signs of imminent death prior but it was perfectly fine... until it wasn't.

Not the dealer's fault. These things happen.
Exactly, except my Dash was flickering on and off, not Cool at 6 a.m. I ended up taking my dad's car to CarQuest to get a Battery, on the way back, I did pick up some refreshments and installed the new Battery.

I kind of had a Warning, at least I got home. Sorry about your experience. Maybe you and I can learn something, do we need to always carry 1 of those Battery Pack Chargers?

good afternoon! THANKS for all the great advice over the years.

OK. sister in law got stuck with a dead battery. She is single and got very upset. 2019 Honda Accord. We are mad at the honda dealer. we thought the dealer should have told her to replace it. she brings it in religiously for service always. It is the smaller engine. I think a turbo 4 cylinder. car was bought new, has 9500 miles or so. that is not a typo. nine thousand miles.

dumb questions:
1. what maintenance should she do? we will look at her meticulous records, to see what has been done.
2. I like to replace my battery at 3-4 years, no matter what. should she any timing belt, differential fluid, transmission fluid (it is an automatic)
3. i wonder if she should lease a new Accord. her car is worth about $22,000 to $24,000 or so. it is paid off. lease a new accord for about $3800 and $270/month for 3 years. she drives very little, and takes impeccable care of her car. looks new, inside and out

l would love all ideas.
THANKS!
bob
If the car is regularly driven then I would check the battery cells for low level 2X a year and load test it in the fall.

Buy an AGM rather than regular flooded.

Buy East Penn mfg batteries.

Computers, Computers,Computers, & more computers. How many times did you put in a new battery, and get an arc when putting the last terminal on the battery ???? Mind you, the car is shut off. But the computers are still drawing amps off the battery. I have this problem with my 13' CRV. The vehicle isn't used much. So, I ran some wiring from the battery, ( positive end with a fuse in it ), and snaked it out just above the bottom of the bumper. Wire loomed it. Done. Hooked up a Noco 2 genius battery charger to it with the quick connect at the bumper. Problem solved. Battery going on 7 years now.

It should be much lower than an amp. Have you checked the draw?

Didn't check anything. 7 years is my proof. Now, I have an 03' Solara, 06' Camry Le. No arcing on battery installation. Hence, less computers. Lets go back even furthur. A 1977 Olds Cutty. My summer car. Left the battery in for 4.5 months. Didn't even disconnect it. Come spring, started right up. No computers.
