I maybe overthinking this...

Next week I'm changing the water pump on my in-laws 2018 Corolla with 75k miles as it's leaking....

I'll be doing a drain and fill and I have a local (29681 zip) Walmart that I'll be purchasing from.

I have alot of options that say they're universal, etc. I'm good with Supertech products, just not sure which one!

Pretty sure you need the expensive stuff, Toyota pink SLLC. My 2006 uses it.

I have no idea if this is the correct pricing, it used to be $25/gal for 50/50 which is absolutely outrageous.

But I was able to get zerex pink at Walmart for $8--that ship long sailed yet I still have one jug. Ran to a Walmart in 2020 that said 5 in stock, of course it was not

I know this will do as it says 5/150, but it's truly blurred in the aftermarket as they all seem to say red/pink.

What I had bought for $8 was PINK.

I know I actually cared back in 2016 and so I even saw many techs used red on their own cars even if 2006 even thought their vehicles came with pink., but they simply changed it more often. Overthinking yes. About all a person should avoid is Dexcool, which I read is only for GM.

p.s. I had always wondered, what if you need to go below -34F, as pink only comes in 50/50. What if a person wanted 70/30 (although I'd be careful and maybe do 60/40 to not cross 70)

Another thing to think about is using a vac tool to replace the coolant. A lot of newer aluminum 4 cylr. engines have siamesed bores and it is nearly impossible to get all the air pockets out of the system if you try to refill the system in any other way. Check what Toyota recommends as the recommended way to refill the system.

Also, the AutoZone in my area have the concentrated Peak OET Toyota, if you want to dilute it yourself.

Depends if color is important to you. The aftermarket has not been very good about providing formulation details on the various Asian coolants; they may very well be Universal Juice dyed to match the OE coolants.

That’s true for Prestone - it still meets Toyota’s definition of a coolant but it has 2-EHA. Only Valvoline disclosed the OAT used in Zerex Asian, it’s sodium benzoare.
