2017 Corvette Z51 oil choice.

For one, as stated up front, I want to use 5qt jugs from Walmart. They do have multiple choices but I have euro spec M1 from my Porsche I just sold to get a Corvette, and I guess I just wanted someone to say that the euro 0W or 5W40 was reasonable to use up. I would probably move to DEXOS spec oil of some weight after. When supercar M1 is $25-30 for 5 qt, I will happily use it. The OEM oil recommendation has been through multiple generations of 5W30 and now the supercar DEXOS R I guess. The track oil recommendation for my 2017 was M1 15w50 per Chevrolet, and that wasn’t even DEXOS certified, I believe, so maybe DEXOS in and of itself shouldn’t hold much weight.
They also said to remove the track oil immediately and swap back.

Later they revised the recommendation to 0w40 ESP aka Supercar. They also recommended owners could just run the supercar oil on street and track.

Do you know the difference between LSPI and common pre-ignition knock? Apparently not.
Doesn't matter if he does. The sensor doesn't and would react to both lpsi and knock.

Adjusting timing isn't useful to help with lpsi, but again the sensor doesn't know that.

If you say so.

Plus most LSPI events are catastrophic. You make arguments for the sake of argument with no application.

I don't have data to say if they are or aren't. It's unrelated to knock sensor feedback. People seem to wanna chastise that guy for the wrong reasons.
