2017 Chevy Impala 3.6 yea or nay?

If the price is right and you get it inspected i'd say go for it. Similar year and mileage ones in lt form go for 17k or so.

Thermostats, Coolant Temp Sensors, Broken Exhaust Pipes(FWD) & Cam Phasers are what I see fail on LFX 3.6L's.

Make sure you can "Cold Start" the engine after it's sat a overnight if possible....If it rattles for a second, It has one or more Phasers not locking.
What leads to the cam phasers failing prematurely? Extended OCIs/lack thereof or design fault?

What would I have inspected? No rust here, if the car looks well cared for I'll pay for a CarFax to see history and go from there. LT trim.
Any secret damage. Daughter almost bought an SUV with an unreported accident and it only had 18k miles. The front end was tweaked.

These cars are typically great value for the price. I really like them. The 3.6's I've had in the past have been stone cold reliable. Weakest point in my opinion is the cooling system.

2012 with that combo 182000 miles. Only major thing was wire on fuel injector grounded at 150k. There is a bulletin on the issue. PCV is known issue. Been a great car.
