Local private sale, 44k, looks well kept in the ad photos. Is the 3.6 and 6 spd something to be concerned with?
Supposedly fixed after 2012.Isn't that the engine with the timing chain problem?
What would I have inspected? No rust here, if the car looks well cared for I'll pay for a CarFax to see history and go from there. LT trim.If the price is right and you get it inspected i'd say go for it. Similar year and mileage ones in lt form go for 17k or so.
That would be the LLT version of the 3.6. This vehicle has the next version, the LFX which resolved that as well as other improvements.Isn't that the engine with the timing chain problem?
What leads to the cam phasers failing prematurely? Extended OCIs/lack thereof or design fault?Thermostats, Coolant Temp Sensors, Broken Exhaust Pipes(FWD) & Cam Phasers are what I see fail on LFX 3.6L's.
Make sure you can "Cold Start" the engine after it's sat a overnight if possible....If it rattles for a second, It has one or more Phasers not locking.
No, the LGX/LGZ replaced that engine.Isn't that the engine with the timing chain problem?
Good deal, no signs of that to date on the Equinox thankfully. The locking pins wear & get stuck, I've seen it on well maintained LFX engines.
Any secret damage. Daughter almost bought an SUV with an unreported accident and it only had 18k miles. The front end was tweaked. What would I have inspected? No rust here, if the car looks well cared for I'll pay for a CarFax to see history and go from there. LT trim.

Great car to wake up with a tune. My experience is with a 2012 Impala and it woke it up both engine and trans.Local private sale, 44k, looks well kept in the ad photos. Is the 3.6 and 6 spd something to be concerned with?
