I recently put an order for a lightly equiped Ford Edge SEL AWD with the 3.5l V6. Assembly is in Oshawa, On.

According to Wikipedia, the transmission is a version of this combined effort with GM;

I chose the Ford over the Nissan Murano because I liked the driving, suspension and steering more than the Nissan. In addition, the general quality of the vehicle surprised me in a positive way, coming from someone who wouldn't have put his own $$ in one in decades. The fact that I can get it equiped just the way I wanted, local incentives and better trade in value for my Mazda helped clinch the deal.

Any comments regarding reliability or the vehicle in general, and of course oil and filters are welcome...

I've really been pleased with my Taurus with the same engine/transmission. Mine is not AWD so I can't comment on that. It's given me 26k trouble free miles so far...and I'm not easy on vehicles. *knock on wood*

98k on the Taurus with the "famous Ford PTU" and still running like a top. And it holds up to much more power than any Edge.

Nice car. Enjoy it!

Motorcraft filter or Fram TG/Ultra will serve you well.

11.8 onces and 2.4 pints in the rear diff.

check out the water pump problems NOW and the replacement coast as well as an engine replacement.

I wouldn't buy any ford with the 3.5 I've seen a lot of stuff wrong with them when I worked at the ford dealer. The awd makes it even worse. I'd pass on it for sure.
