There is no VW approved 5W-40.Iron is way above average and your viscosity is pretty low too. I see you ran a Euro 5w30 which should be fine but you are shearing oil enough I'd jump to a VW approved 5w40.
What oil was this?
My car is factory stock. Not been "fixed" yet. No tune just yet , but hopefully soon.Nice. Is your car as delivered, "fixed," or deleted + tuned?
This is amsoil 5w30 euro .Iron is way above average and your viscosity is pretty low too. I see you ran a Euro 5w30 which should be fine but you are shearing oil enough I'd jump to a VW approved 5w40.

I overlooked that the OP ran this oil for 45,000 miles. No wonder the iron level is high. I guess it’s one of those change the filter and add oil deals. Why would you run a low ash oil to 45K miles? Not a wise move IMO, I'd love to see the TAN on this, I bet it's much higher than the TBN number
Besides you missing the fact 2x that it was a 45k oci I believe you also missed the fact there was no makeup oil added!I overlooked that the OP ran this oil for 45,000 miles. No wonder the iron level is high. I guess it’s one of those change the filter and add oil deals.![]()
It appears that way. However, we have not been given the whole story.Besides you missing the fact 2x that it was a 45k oci I believe you also missed the fact there was no makeup oil added!
I had a '15 TDI Passat with a stick for two years before the buyback. Great car! They gave me $29k for a car I paid $21K for. It would return an honest 48-55 mpg at 80mph freeway speeds in the summer. I liked the stick but the DMF made some strange noises from time to time. I changed the OE Castrol to Red Line 5w-30 after 2000 miles and ran it at 10k mile intrvals as dictated by VW. Fuel filter has a 40k interval iirc. Miss that car!
