Oooh and it’s felt super sluggish with that 180 t stat. Typically it can pull any grade in 5th with the cruse on setting around 2500 rpm. But it was struggling dropping down to 4th to maintain 65. So the 180 one is NOT the answer. Read lots of mixed comments before trying it myself and I think I made a terrible terrible mistake boys.
Another question can that many miles at super high oil pressure screw things up THAT badly? I sure hope it’s the sensor.
Sensor didn’t fix it. 11psi at hot idle 24@1200 27@1500. 32-34 at 2500 60+ over 3500.
Used to be 22@hot 34@1200 42@2500 60+@3600
Bought is with 174k
Ran Valvoline 5-20 for 5,500
Ran mobile xp with xp wix for 7800 changed filters at 50 hours
Switched to mobile super syn 5-20 and wix 10010 for 3,000 cuz it was lookin dirty
Refilled with super syn
Ran it for 1,000 changed cooler and t stat and ran for 3-400 miles at 175* oil temp maxing psi basically all day, super sluggish.
Went back to the 203 t stat
So now it’s got 0-20 mobile xp and wix10010
With 50 miles on the oil. Oil temp=190 coolant >200 <210
So it got a new Dorman aluminum oil cooler wix10100
Dorman aluminum coolant crossover
Dorman aluminum t stat housing.
6 ngk coil packs 6 ngk lazer iridium plugs
Gonna try 5-30 when I get home tomorrow and see if that helps it or hurts it. Till I can get a mechanical gauge on it.
Or maybe I’m worry too much. It’s how I make a living only wheels I got.
Thanks for all the tips about locations it can suck air from or leak pressure.
