Run the manufacturer recommended oil and use the OLM.

I live in S Texas.
Have put 137k on a Gen 1 and just over 100k on a Gen 2 using the OLM, Magnatec, and a FL500s.
KJSmith has a lot of experience here, running a number of Ford EB engines and producing a great series of used oil analysis on Castrol Magnatec 5W30. From memory, I recall 9k miles as being the right time for him to change the oil.

She rolled her truck over 100k yesterday and thankfully it was in the 50's here with enough ice and snow melted that we could do the oil change today without discomfort. We used an FL-500s and 6 quarts of Shell Rotella T6, 5w40. Not sure what was in the truck but it ran out like water... looked like a 20wt. She is purring like a kitten with T6 in splashing around the inside of her.

Daughter will just pay attention to the OLM for the next change. I'm hoping the robust T6, 5w40 will allow her to do 10k OCI's. We shall see......

I had planned to also change her differential and transfer case oil, but read that Ford recommends that change at 150k. Her truck has been easily used running around a rural community, never towed anything and nearly always on pavement. Maybe summer of 2021, I will help her do it all, including a transmission filter and fluid change. She's hoping this little truck will carry her to 200k.

Just to reiterate BJ, 5k oci's are almost a must on these engines. Castrol Magnatec 5w30 does real well or if you want a heavier grade try Castrol Edge 0w40 which might get you to a 7.5k interval.

I run xw-40 oil's in mine with ~10k used oil analysis. All of my used oil analysis are posted here and I have over 122K on mine. Runs fine and it was a hard worker for the first 80k or so.
No issues with the high calcium levels?

I was half joking with the 20k question. I know better than that. Just curious what comments it would stir up.

Mobil 1 isn't my favorite oil, as it shears and burns faster than I like.

With 100k on the engine, I am very, very, very tempted to go with Rotella T6 5w40, especially since she is moving to the heat of Texas.

I ran Castrol in my wifes ecoboost 3.5 from new to 100,000 no problems changed it at 3,000 could’ve done 5 I guess but I dont like pushing oil especially in those engines.
