Welp, it is time to do the VCG on the Accord. I am at 120k~ miles. Starting to seep a little. Nothing crazy. From my understanding, Mahle makes the OEM "Honda" branded gasket. I found a Mahle VCG kit on Autozone for $56. What's wild is I saw the same part number on Rockauto but under a different brand. Rockauto is selling the same part number under "ultra-power" for $24. OEM gasket runs about $80~ at my local Honda dealership. I found an OEM Honda one on Amazon for $50~. Not sure if it's a knockoff or legit. I might just go with the Ultra-Power gasket off Rockauto since the part number matches the Mahle one. Anything else I should do while the VC is off? PCV Valve maybe?

I looked at the Amazon listing, 'appears' legit 'to me'. I've had good success buying some Honda OEM parts from Amazon. Coincidentally, yt algorithm recently brough up 100k mi. service on same gen Accord engine. Did plugs and cleaned pcv. Ultrapower, might be ok, but 'imo' more of crapshoot than the Amazon OEM listing. Just depends on your comfort level.

When you do it, perhaps you'll post some under VC pics.

I4 or V6?

If it's the V6, only use Mahle or OEM. It is almost impossible to get to the back of a transverse V6 and something you don't want to do twice!

If it's the I4, then the job is easy, and it might be worth trying the U-P

I bought the Rock Auto gasket for a 2014 4 cylinder. WOULD NOT stay in the grooves when trying to put the cover back on. Went to OReilly's and got an OEM...perfect...no problem.

Common with aftermarket. Use a few drops of super glue to lightly glue the gasket into the grooves. 😐
