I'm coming up on the second oil change on my new Altima at 7000, and used Mobil 1 0W20 on the first change, but am wondering what you're recommendations would be for oil and weight. I bought the car last Feb and am now just getting 6000 on it, so it will go more on time than mileage. Should I change it every six months or go longer? How long? What is everyone's thoughts on 0W20 use? The manual states to use either 0W20 or 5W30 conventional?? Could I go other directions? such as 0W30? or 5W30 syn or conventional, what is your recommendations.

Your warranty will dictate the oil grade you can use and the interval, so staying in the recommended grade and interval is required if you want to keep it.
Some people go with 5w30 conventional like Pennzoil Conventional or Quaker State Conventional for summer, It can save you money on the cost of the oil if that's the determining factor. Seeing as you just bought a new car it's probably not though.
Hands down for me, I would use 0w20, just a different make.

I suspect you're speaking of the 2.5 engine. 0w20 is the recommended grade. With your driving habits and 0w20 being either synthetic or semi syn, your miles per year, I'd choose the new Pennzoil Pure Plus oil with a Fram Ultra 7317 oil filter. The filter is a tad larger than specked but fits.
