My 2012 Frontier 4.0 has 4100 miles on it. So far so good.
Coolant temp is always normal, heat works well.

Just for the heck of it I decided to pop off the radiator cap tonight, and there was nothing in there that I could see!!

But the reserve tank was slightly over filled which by the way has its own pressure cap.
I decided to take it on a 5 mile drive so I can come recheck level when its at temp.

I get home and pop the hood. I first slowly open the reserve to release pressure ,and then re install cap. I pop off the radiator cap ,and its full to the rim ,and for the moment the reserve is where its supposed to be as well then the radiator level before my eyes starts dropping as it starts to flow into the reserve. I guess I don't have anything to worry about. Does this sound normal?

Radiator should be full at all times. Reserve tank should be at cold mark when cold and hot mark when hot.

This is what I was thinking ,but after the drive, the radiator was full as was the reserve until the I popped the reserve cap back off, then the rad level started to drop as the reserve started to increase.

The reserve doesn't have hot ,and cold marks. Just Min and Max.
