2011 Honda CRV - Did I add to much ATF?

Following the drain and fill for my 2011 Honda CRV. This is my 2nd one I believe Honda recommends 4. Used a new crush washer and added 3 quarts the same as last time. Following producedure after the fill I drove the car ran through the gears checked multiple times on level ground after the radiator fan turned on and waited 60 seconds. It looks like I’m slightly over. Honda says between the two dots. Cause for concern or no? I’ll be draining this again as I’d really like to change the filter while I’m under there.

Drive on. I wouldn't sweat that. I feel like mine generally takes around 3.5qts.
I was thinking the same can never be to sure though. I have seen from 2.6 all the way to 4 quarts. I’m not sure what that’s about. Mine is the fwd. I don’t know if there are different amounts for the different models or if each drain causes a different amount of fluid to come out. I had the parts guy at my Honda dealership look at the capacity and he replied 3 quarts. So who knows? Thanks for the feedback.

That looks a little too full to me. I’d probably drain a tad bit out. Son’s 2011 CR-V 2WD took 2.75 quarts for a drain and fill. Our driveway isn’t on level ground so not sure how much that affects it. I’ll be doing another drain and fill here soon. And maybe one more later in the year.

If you were to use a siphon how much would you take out? I guess trial and error is the only way as I have no way of knowing how over I am.

1/4 quart increments I guess. If you use a clean container and pump you can always put some back.
Found one at my local harbor freight hopefully it’s long enough. How many miles are you doing between intervals?

The OCD took over I took out 1/4 quart and was to close to the bottom dot than I wanted. Put back about half and I’m between top and bottom. Will definitely be adding and checking for my next drain and fill rather than pouring it all in.

Not being on level ground would definitely change the reading.

Depends on the incline, may be minimal. I thought you meant checked the reading where it was not level.

In my 05 Element is get 3.3qts to 3.6qts but this last time I had the rear tires up on ramps, fixing evap leak and it drained 4qts even. Will be doing all my d&f's with the rear up to even out the qts to 4.
OP I'd have left that, if anything being a tad over will give you a tiny buffer.

Too much though and will cause aeration issues. My '19 Pilot has a TSB going over that for hot versus cold check of level. It has in it that if you are at the high mark, when cold, it may cause the aeration, drivability issues and CEL for transmission issues.

I believe the Honda's are hot transmission (not just engine), shut off vehicle, check within 30 seconds.

Other brands have stay running, in neutral or other variants.

Did you see it was only about 4oz of fluid he ended up draining? That is nothing to worry about, qt/s over sure but not a few ounces.
