Nothing really makes sense, guess we'll either never know, unless I can get a retest. What also made me wonder was the TBN of 9.4 which sounded really high too.

Yes, that has higher levels of phosphorous and zinc, as suspected. It has the same boron figure as this report, which means there's no way it dragged the ~150ppm in the M1 FS 0W-40 up to that.

Here is the amended lab report.

Several options: I got "Canadian service" and they just changed a few things here and there from the first report ; M1 altered the formulation, or that particular batch was blended differently ; someone changed my oil with something else ; I got "fake" oil from Walmart ; I'm getting senile.
