2010 Ford 4.0 Any Good?

OP- I wouldn’t worry about changing the tensioners. They were redesigned in 2004 and the 4.0 SOHC has been a reliable power source. If it sounds right on startup then I wouldn’t even begin to think about changing the tensioners.

I wouldn’t want the dealer swapping parts unnecessarily, it’s almost a guarantee they will break something or botch the repair in some other fashion.
 
Since it is a Ford dealer, if I were him, I'd have them throw in the tensioner change, spark plugs, a transmission fluid change and coolant flush/fill and then he's probably got a good deal on a nice car. I really like the looks of that gen Mustang convertible. He wants it to cruise in on nice evenings and weekends with his wife. Looks like that'd fit the bill!
Good luck with that. It sounds like an expensive proposition I don't think the dealership would throw it in.
 
Update: My brother talked to the dealer today and they were willing to deal but he found that the top had some holes in it, so he contacted a couple upholstery/top shops and got quotes of close to $2k to do it. So he has moved on. He's still looking at Mustangs that include this model year, though, among a few other makes/models so all the advice is appreciated. I'll post up on what he comes across.
 
What did the dealer say about the top? If the holes are noticeable I'd think they'd have to do something about it to sell the car. Surely most people know to check the top on a used convertible, but maybe not.

I wouldn't worry too much about the timing chains if it runs good from a cold start. I definitely wouldn't replace anything that isn't broken. I bought an early SOHC 97 Explorer back in late Oct. with a little over 216K on it; almost didn't because of the engine, but it ran good. I've put almost 4k miles on it since and I really don't think the engine is going to be a problem anytime soon.
