Hello all,

Joined in March and have browsed extensively and I really appreciate the research you guys do and the information you share. Here goes my first post!
I have been a Redline user for many years, oils, Diff. lube, SI-1 fuel additive, and D-4 xmsn fluid in my Cutlass and my wife's 2004 Honda Accord - I've been happy with their products. I am planning a Redline D6 fluid conversion in the trans of my '09 Tacoma and wondered if anyone else has done this and what your results were. I think I have the same hunting and sometimes harsh shift issues that I have read about online. (no gas pedal issues though - LOL) Also, no dipstick - a gimmick or an attempt to keep us out? Thanks in advance!

No kidding? Was there a problem with using the D6 in place of WS?

Thanks for the quick replies, I checked the Tacoma World forum on that TSB and my VDS is in that group so I will get with my Toyota dealer on Monday and take care of first things first. Redline's site still has D6 as the replacement but that is not the first time I have heard D4 is recommended for a WS replacement. Has anyone else done this in Toyota O/D auto trans. of recent years? Thanks.

When I called Dave at Redline few weeks ago for my 06 Tacoma he said D4 was better add pack for WS app. I do not use Redline still use WS and drain fill every 10K when price gets out of hand for WS I will make a change.

Today I had the TSB performed to flash the ECU with the shift performance improvement and I drove around quite a bit and there is a definite difference in how the truck/trans responds - for the better. I also talked to Dave at Redline and he told me that D4 trans fluid additive package is better suited for the clutch material in Toyota's modern transmissions. D6 is fine to use he said but D4 seems to be better suited, maybe they should update their site. Will perform the flush procedure on tacomaworld.com with D4 after the Memorial Day weekend and see how things go.
