If only they actually did, they would be ruling the car world. So thank misguided Japanese (and Asian in general) pride they insist on going it alone. Quite immature really: Even the average Italian econo hatch is quite handsome.

Too bad not everybody is not brand conscious like you. People in general like showing off.

And that's cool too! I wouldn't mind showing off too, if I had a nice car like above mentioned Porsche or smth:) But showing off Toyota over Hyundai? Aha Ha ha ha! That's just makes no sense:)

Oh comon, just look at Lexus, especially earlier ones they just MB copycats. Audi got their design "borrowed" in 80's. Suzuki paid Pinifarina to design hatch for them. Kia Amanti is practically a Euro car Frankenstein. Now they coming up with their own designs and their cars are ok. Modern Infiniti, Acura and even Lexus are good loking cars for the most part.

I've never owned a Hyundai, but I don't have anything against them. I'm impressed how far these cars have come in a short time period. Without a pickup truck line (that I know of), they seem focused on the family sedan market. A company that knows what it is all about, and what it is not.

It wasn't that long ago, and I can still remember it (I'm 41), when the Big 3 just dominated what was out on the road here in the USA. Strange how fast things change in life. Maybe that was part of their downfall. You know, how nothing is more vulnerable than entrenched success, because you just can't imagine anything else. If you just looked at what is on the roads around here, you'd think the Big 3 was basically in the business of producing pickup trucks and SUVs. Cars? Except for the AARP drivers in their Buicks, that is the domain of Asian and European automakers.
