2009 honda civic GX won't start, cranks, sometimes fires a bit

While at operating temp work the plugs carefully back and forth a little at a time using penetrating oil. This can take patience and time but not as much time as pulling the head and visiting a machine shop.
In the picture of the busted spark plugs, the one that has threads shows the threads loaded with aluminum from the head.
In that case I doubt any penetrating oil would have helped.

Obviously that one has the threads ripped out of it, but the others if the plug can be moved slightly penetrating oil may get down in some of the threads.

Give it a whiff of ether and see if it will start. That will help narrow it down to fuel or spark.
Just woke up today to the same issue. 2-3-25. Crank no start, but intermittently it will burp and act like it wants to start, a hiccup now and then but no long wanna start. Tried starting fluid, no better almost worse. Unhooked the battery, I’ve cleaned the connections, letting it charge because i ran it down a little cranking. We’ll see. Anything else?…

Cleaned terminals, charged the battery to full, and it started. Most cars now need a fully charged battery with no issues. Bought a new battery because it’s at least 3-4 years old, for now it’s working. Still a little slow start.
