Sometimes when I start up my vibe it sounds like a clicking noise coming from the upper dash area passenger side, it sounds like a vent is not opening or closing properly, that it keeps trying and running, that it get stuck. It stops however when I switch from fresh air to re circulate on the dash buttons.. and starts again going from re circulate to fresh...any suggestions??

Do some of the vent orientations automatically close when the car is shut down? Maybe one is stuck. I always think of clicking as perhaps the blower...

See if this sounds like it; did this research for my friend who has a 2006

This is well covered on the genvibe site, it is your flap motor gear. The good news is you can take it apart and rotate the gear 180 and it will be as good as new, though a pain to get to.

The better news is you can prevent the clucking by simply unplugging it. This will default it to fresh air only. You just remove the glove box and its in the upper left attached to the ducting. I used a small screwdriver to pop the clip up so I could pull the plug off.

Hope that helped!
