2008 vehicles

Ok so whats everyones favorite of those 8? I am interested in the skyline! I have always heard about that car for so long now. The jaguar looked awesome! Of course the Aston but the BMW is probably my favorite for an all around car.

I would be interested in the Gladiator if Jeep would actually produce it. If they do it right, it may go to the top of my shopping list unless Ford comes out with a new, US designed and built Ranger.

The Dakota is also interesting with its more powerful 4.7L for 2008. I am gussing that it will carry on the Dakota tradition of getting horrible gas mileage though.

It will be interesting to see how the LWB Titan sells with its unconventional bed sizes. They may have tapped into something new here, or they could have produced a bunch of orphan trucks. I think they need to build a regular cab Titan and Frontier next.

Lots of very nice models. Vehicles that I like and may actually buy in the next couple years: Ford Mondeo (bring it to the US, now!!!), Pontiac G8 (are those BMW stying cues?), Toyota Highlander (much better now), VW Tiguan (because it's a diesel), and the Hyundai Genesis (put another manufacturer name on it and it flies off dealer lots, but it may anyway).

It's funny, in a bad way I guess, how the great new models for Ford and GM are coming from the EU and Oz (Opel, Holden, Ford Europe, etc). No matter who's coming up with them, just bring 'em over!

I might actually buy a Saturn Astra 5 door next year. I'm looking for something smaller for myself after the wife's car is paid off and am really impressed with the Astra. I'm also really impressed with what GM has done with the Saturn lineup. They should do well. I've sat in the new Vue as well. Very, very slick.

I can't believe nobody has mentioned the Dodge Challenger. That is one domestic vehicle I would buy in a heartbeat. Beautifully modernized version of a classic muscle car.

The Infiniti G37 is impressive, given that Nissan managed to improve its fuel economy and horsepower by implementing a bigger engine. Despite that, I would not buy it.

I never want to have to negotiate with an automobile dealership as long as I live (I realize that in the future when I am married, avoiding this will be impossible because of my spouse, but I still will not do it for myself). In addition, my current car gets me from A to B. I do not need to buy a new car to accomplish this. Lastly, if I was buying a new car for myself, it would be a sedan with a diesel engine for higher fuel economy, as I only drive sedans.

It sounds like you'll be shopping at Saturn or CarMax for your next vehicle.

As for me..I love the opportunity to beat down on a salesman and his manager down the hall.

I didn't see the Challenger listed. Will it be available in 08? Saw the new Camaro at Carlisle last weekend. I would like to see that one next to the Challenger.
The Saturn Astra looks like it could be a pretty good car for its segment.

Carmax is a huge joke. I found a Z at one one time with a non-working air conditioner ($1000 minumum for a new a/c compressor, which was definitely the problem,a failed a/c compressor). They wanted top Blue Book for it and wouldn`t budge on the price.

Car Max is overpriced for sure. A quick search on Auto Trader will reveal many better deals on vehicles that are just as good. Recently I saw them asking $10,000 for a truck like mine! If I am going to spend $10,000 on a Ranger with vinyl seats, no power features, 2WD, and a four cylinder, it had better be brand new.

Definitely not endorsing Carmax...but they're one of the only places I can think of that sticks to the price on the window, even though they end up lowering it a few weeks later when they get no bites on the car.

I attempted to test drive a Talon TSi AWD on a Carmax lot, which abrubtly ended when I cranked the car and it refused to stay running. I know it was likely the IAC valve in need of replacement, but I'm certainly not making that my problem by buying the car. I have to wonder how that item was missed on their 2.5 million point check they supposedly do to all their cars.
