What are your thoughts on this car? I am seriously thinking about buying one. All my research so far looks good. The only downside is the [censored] gas mileage reported especially with the AWD. Let me know of any issues you are aware of. Thanks guys.

Resale value is lousy compared to some other vehicles.

Other than that (and the fuel economy), it's a pretty good vehicle.

I drove two different ones while as loaners during service on our G35. I was quite disappointed. It's engine note has changed much for the worse due to the design changes. It sounds much more thrashy and cheap (like some American 4-cylinder engines). One had really bad brake shudder when I used them strongly (fixable but still, WTH). Both had MPG readout screen and one was getting about 15 MPG and the other 18 MPG...bad.

If I just HAD to have AWD, I'd be looking at a used Acura RL, Lexus IS350 (250?), or Saabaru.

Regarding Infinitis, I think their dashboards look ugly, with grody yellow illumination, switches uselessly facing upward, and fake aluminum painted trim: just a general low rent feel of the whole interior.

Strange how taste and interpretations vary among car enthusiasts.

My co-worker took me for a ride in his spanking new CTS yesterday and I'm less than impressed for a $40K automobile. I don't know what look they were going for with the dashboard materials, but it had this faked bumpy look to it that reminded me of something you'd see in a Cobalt. I guess a near-luxury car just isn't my style, as wood (be it fake or real) is just ugly on dashboards, consoles and door panels. Plus...with about 100 miles on the clock, there's already an annoying rattle somewhere by the back window.

On the other hand, there's very little I don't like about an Infiniti. The use of brushed metals in place of wood appeals to me, and the textures of their plastics does as well.

Diff'rnt Strokes I suppose.

In regard to the G35X...one shouldn't expect stellar gas mileage from any car in that class. They're all overweight.

The new Cadillac CTS and Infiniti G37 are two of my absolute favorite cars of the moment. If it had to be a sedan I'd be very hard pressed to pick between a CTS and a G37, probably leaning towards the CTS. But, the G37 coupe truly wins my heart.

On the other hand, I think the Acura and Lexuses are horrid. I cringe at the sight of horrible ugly Acuras.

Thanks for the great insight guys. I have driven the Infiniti G35x and its absolutely a great car to drive and the interior is beautiful but the 17mpg's are just plain ridiculous with the prices right now. My Lexus is giving me about 25mpgs right now so I cant take that big of a hit. I think I'll just keep my money and keep the Lexus.

If it's worth anything to you, I had a friend with a G35x that ran regular in it and had no problems (a little less power though). I don't remember what kind of mileage he got with it.
