2007 Ford F-350 5R110W "Torqshift" Filter w/35k

I need to change mine. I have a new pan for the transmission itself, just need the motivation to lay on my back that long.
Same. Hating that PPE/Ford couldn’t come up with something that doesn’t require dropping the exhaust to get the pan over the crossmember and exhaust 🤬

We’re talking less than 1/2” needed to be a literal cakewalk…

FT145 I believe is the In line up by the radiator if we are talking 2007 body/frame build where it gets confusing is there is a short time that there was one by the pan for the 2008 change over there is also FT176

Hope this helps

The 5R110 is one of best transmission made by Ford.:) Very little goes wrong with them, often outlasting both the 6.0 and 6.4 Powerstrokes they were bolted to.:)

I've been casually browsing 5.4 and 6.8 trucks equipped with that transmission. They seem to be as good of a transmission as the E4OD/4R100 was bad.

I've seen the crazy power people will put through them with hopped up diesels. I can't imagine even a 3 valve 5.4 could make enough power to kill one.

The horizontal inline filter under the pan 2008
ft 145 looks correct?
Seems to be a bit of confusion. The Ford part number FT-145 is the Vertical "Toilet Paper" filter that is shown in the post. If you want the internal transmission pan filter I'd reach out to Ford w/your VIN number for correct part for your 2008.
This is the housing 2lines to trans .2 lines to cooler

Interesting, You're right that is a horizontal filter & this must be the "one off 2008" year transition filter.

FT-145 is the Motorcraft for earlier Transmissions & I don't think that's the part number for your 2008.
Early 2008 job 1 specific early builds the easiest way to tell a early truck will be the thin chin spoiler on the front bumper vs the thick one that came on later builds and all 2009 -2010 and the external trans filter

I, possibly, incorrectly assume that the 08-10, eventually, eliminated an external filter & just used an internal pan filter? Do the 08,09,10 have an external filter? I don't know anything about these years other than some updates to the same 5R110W.

Yes it got eliminated after about half the build year of 2008

Now I'm not 100% but I belive that also coincides with the different depth pan and also the different depth filter to go along with

2008 is definitely a year that the VIN comes into play for build dates and the last 8 in particular

That's what I was thinking. Thanks.
