2007 Accord LX 4cylinder AT internet quote

Looks good to me, but I haven't checked recently with the 2008 on the horizon. People pay that much and more for a Civic. Auto-Union bought a more expensive Accord, could explain the greater $ off MSRP.

I would go through the posts at:

http://townhall-talk.edmunds.com/direct/view/.ef006d2/16746

to see what kinda deals people are scoring on Accords. That will give you an idea of what you *can* get.

BTW, I got $4900 off MSRP on a 07 Passat that stickered at $23,820, which is about how much people were getting off of $30,000 passats. So I'm not sure higher MSRP explains everything. When 07s are being cleared out, you can serious leverage on your side.

I dunno about price difference between Coupe and Sedan, but I went in looking for $20k for a 4cyl auto EX Coupe and got it easily. I ended up with a EX-L for $21.8, which stickers for $25.7k. $4k off is a good start, but I'd shoot for more. Nice car so far.

$18.8K is a good deal for a brand-new Accord. IMO- you wont do better than that. 4cyl A/T Camrys go for more than that in my area.

I got an internet quote for this vehicle which stickers for $21,365 for $18,880. Almost $2,500 off MSRP.

Good deal?

They can do some better on an 07. It's a good price but not their best price. It's time for you to show you are serious about buying from them before they will give their best price to you. Why should they give their absolute lowest price to you so you can take that price to another store for them to try to beat? If you sit down with them and are ready to do business with them they will go better than that.

Only problem with that strategy (the dealer's strategy) is that if another dealer does give him their best price and it's a lot lower, this dealer may not get a second shot. I know a lot of dealers that didn't give me their best quote on a Passat didn't get a second shot.

I went to my local dealer with #s on a purchase and trade. I said if they met it, I'd buy today. Zero haggle. I traded my car for my price with old pitted wheels and beat tires. I had a new car in 2 hours. Maybe I could have gotten another $1k off, if I ran around all North Jersey, but was not into it. I liked the car they had on the lot. Red/Tan leather, 4AT. Done.

Today, I got a quote from another dealer for approx. $2,500 of MSRP on a LX-SE, AT.

MSRP = $22,065 and they quoted $19,515

Just find the lowest price somebody got on Edmunds and then make a comparable offer to a dealer and tell them you will buy now if they take it. I bet at least one of those four dealers take it. Do it over the internet so you got it all in writing before you show up. And make sure you square away the doc fee, tax rates, etc. before you show up so there are no surprises.

btw, the SE has a "J" VIN. I thought Accords were assembled in Ohio.

Oh yeah, and don't forget to buy one from Ohio

Not good. How many dealers are nearby?

I can think of 4.

.

Most Accords are not just assembled in Ohio. Their engine and transmission plants are in the U.S. as well. Their foundrys are here also. Honda imports a very small number of Accords here in the states and the U.S. models are just as well-built as the Japan models.

Find the dealer in your erea that has the best reputation for taking care of their customers after the sale and do business with them. When you get to the table and they know you aren't leaving withuot their best deal on a car there won't be much difference in the price.
