Yeah I wouldn't do any engine breaking either. But engine braking, that's probably ok.

My mistake, it's 5W30, debate was on mazda3forums and it was whether 5W30 or 5W20 is recommended. 5W20 seems like it would be way too thin based on what I'm hearing on the UOA's I'm seeing on this engine.

From what I have read on the mazda3forum I wouldn't trust much of any of the info to be technically correct unless verified somewhere else. As a group they seem more excited about bling than techincal information. There are some that are very helpful however like most forums have. Over there I feel like I'm in the upper group of technical think while here I'm near the bottom.
