Just bought an 06 Deuce with 153 miles on it, but one year old. So thought I should change the oil. AMSOIL 20-50 or Mobil 1 20w50 is the first issue. The book says to use diesel oil with API rating of CF-4, CG-4, CH-4 or CI-4, but the AMSOIL and Mobil 1 don't meet that spec. Amsoil has SG, SL/CF, and JASO MA and Mobil 1 has SH/CF and JASO MA. So if these two oils don't meet the HD spec for motor oils, then why is everyone using them???????

You seem to be where I was about 4 years ago, when I bought my Low Rider.

Search the used oil analysis here, and look at the best ones. I think you may conclude (if you understand what you're reading) that a good petroleum oil (dino, it's often called here) will serve you better. Change it out at 2500 mile intervals.

Don't worry about those alphabet soup ratings. They really mean a lot less than some folks seem to think. (Though the anal-retentive often do wring their hands over such issues).
