2005 Grand Cherokee

I am in the market for an SUV, and came across this. Looks clean, anything I should know about this vintage GC with the 4.7L?

Good choice. I am a big fan of GC. I personally would prefer one with the 4.0L if they still made them, but the 4.7L is a very solid engine, fairly problem free. Snap it up without worry.

IMO the price is to much for just a 2wd Jeep. Shoot I'm just north of you and around me they had 06-07 GC's with 4wd going to below $10,000 at the dealer with less mileage.

But get it if you like it, and if it's just going to be a street Jeep get it. It's your money.

I too loved the old 4.0 but the 4.7 really wakes up the GC and makes it FUN to Drive!!! (I had a 99 and loved it!) A few people have had sludge problems with that motor - but I suppose people can sludge up anything if they dont change the oil !!! as long as you dont move north you will be fine. (the lack of 4WD really drops resale later)
