2005 Ford 500 slightly rough shift from 1 to 2nd

Just wondering if any Ford techs know about this being an issue....

Car has 60k miles on it...A transmission fluid change was done by the dealer at 50k miles...

Car has not been abused or driven really hard during its lifetime...

I was wondering if perhaps they forgot to put the filter screen back on??? Any tips suggestions appreciated.

What fluid did they use? It should say on your invoice.

Good question....

I will check. It is my dad's car ....I never noticed this problem while driving it BEFORE the change at about 35k miles...

Also noticed there was a slight high pitched whine/whistle while shifting...at least that is what my mom said.

Check the fluid level. Sometimes a whine and/or rough shifting is caused by low fluid.

Thanks Critic....My Dad can do that...I'm surprised he already hasn't.

I just did a little research on TSBs for the car and you guessed it there are two regarding the regular automatic both involve harsh shifting from 1st and 2nd...Here are the Ford numbers

Anyone have any details they could add.??. The brief description I found was simply "harsh shifting from 1st to 2nd also on dowshifts"...

I can't find a rundown that details the solution.
