The diver side is stuck dimmed. Does it need replaced or ??? It has the turn signals in it. Probably expensive. They will not pass inspection

Help

Have you tried disconnecting and reconnecting? Maybe some type of reset procedure?

That old a car I would get one that you can stick right over the top of the old mirror since it's not broken, it won't have the turn indicator or dim but would pass inspection.

I've replaced this same mirror on a 2005 Park Avenue with turn signal and heated element. The replacement is easy and looks factory if you take your time and follow the instructions. On the PA hardest part was getting old mirror out w/o boogering-up the soft metallic frame

What if you just unplug/disconnect the relevant power wire to it? Should stay un-darkened, unless it is dark even with the vehicle off, then get a replacement at a junkyard , won't cost much.

There is some type of liquid inside the mirror that has leaked internally and gives the mirror the appearance of being dimmed. From personal experience this mirror is FUBAR and needs to be replaced. Junkyard mirrors are not worth fooling with, going through the removal process twice and will fail sooner. It's $24.97 at RA, geez...
