Due to my fuel dilution and viscosity reduction I decided to use a mixture of Esso XD-3 0w30 and 15w40 for this interval. I used 8L of 15w40 and about 6-7L of 0w30. Results are stil the same.

The 15w40 was the new CI-4+ formula.

The wear still looks ok, even with all the fuel dilution. Ford once again will not do anything unless the engine produces symptoms of a bad injector and so far it's running very well.

Should I be worried about the increased sodium?

My driving habits are always the same, plenty of stop and go two nights a week, the rest about 60% hwy and 40% city, no extended idling.

In my 1992 Cummins diesel Dodge , I run 4 litres 0-40 XD3 and 8 litres 15-40 XD3 for summer brew. I run 6K km OCI. Great brew, 5 ppm constantly on iron, visc. is 14.8, considering the visc for 15-40 is 15.4 and 0-40 is 15.7, this brew mixing XD3 works to. (the waste oil gets recycled in older vehicles) Guess the 0-30 XD3 still shears less for you than the 0-40 Quick_lude.

Your UOA's always look good even with the fuel dilution. It kinda sucks that you are having to dump your oil out because of fuel dilution though. There is still plenty of life left on the oil, but if you leave the oil in for a longer period of time that means a higher percentage of fuel in the oil.

Look at the bright side, you have a good wearing engine.

Yeah, this interval was a little more than I wanted, got too busy with work and missed the change. With the colder weather coming, I'm going to go with 0w30 only and cut back to about 7500km intervals, hopefully the viscosity will stay above 10. I also just got the latest flash which alters some egr stuff, we'll see how that affects the oil, if it all.

I still can't figure out where this fuel is coming from, and why doesn't my oil level go up with almost 3/4 of a quart of fuel in there.
