Son’s car, life got busy and probably pushed this a little too long. Will check air filter and next change around 8-9K. He doesn’t drive hard but I think he lets it idle a lot.
 
oof, It does look like abrasive silicon like they mentioned. On a positive note the viscosity stayed in grade even with the elevated contaminates.
 
My bet is on a loaded or torn air filter. Personally, I wouldn't wait til the next oil change to check it out.
 
2.7s are HARD on oil, I am shocked to see one still running. I would never go that long of an OCI on one. I say this as a Mopar fan, that's the worst engine they ever made.
Even in one of these sludge monsters, I would think the Kirkland synthetic oil (or pretty much any quality synthetic) can take a heck of a beating without sludging up.
