Have a 2003 Tahoe 5.3 liter with 130000 miles. For about the last 30000 it has had V-Max 10w30 with a AC Delco filter. Anything should change to for better or worse. Thanks.
I agree with JZR2 here. Valvoline Maxlife 10w30 is fine for our area in SE Va. Tired Trucker just started up the other am at -30°C or so with 10w30. The coldest it's been in the Hampton Roads area has been around -4°F in 1994 and Christmas 1983. With a number of other morning time temps in the low single digits. So, yeah a 10w30 is fine for VA Beach.

You try replacing the valve cover with the built in faulty PCV yet?
have not heard of this.it uses a qt of 5w30 in 1000 miles...but a qt of 10w30 in 4000. Huge difference
