Oil for 2002 RSX and 2004 Tahoe.

In our 02 RSX I have always used Valvoline synpower or Castrol synec blend(all5w30) I picked up a bunch of 10w30 Royal purple, The RSX has 90k miles now. Can I start using the 10w30.

For the Tahoe it has a 5.3 vortec.

The Tahoe now has 35k miles. Should I stick to 5w30 or can I use the 10w30. This is the first oil change on the Tahoe since be bought it. IT only had 32k miles when we bought it.

On the Tahoe I'd say use 5w30, no point in wasting gas with 10w30.
With the RSX I don't know.

Does your RSX burn oil? I know a lot of them do.

if it is a base use any 5w20 oil if its a type s you should try out valvoline maxlife 5w30 or a thick 30 weight oil like german castrol 0w-30.

I would use the 10w30 for both cars.
