Is yours on the original turbo? If not when did you swap it?

Thanks for the info

The original turbo made it to 270,000 miles if I remember correctly , that was with 5 min warm up and cool downs. The p/o was adamant about that.

Proof that reasonable oil changes with a quality oil will serve you well. Thank You for the pics

That looks great - mine didn't look nearly that good at ~4 years, 50K miles. Unfortunately, my B6 A4 wasn't inclined to stay together for very long. The dealer did oil changes every 7K for the first 4 years - once every 14K was covered by the service plan when we bought it, we paid to have it done every other 7K. The dealer said they were using Mobil 1 0w40, once I pulled the valve cover I began to doubt that they even changed it when we paid for it. They did change the filters for sure. These are pics I took when I was replacing some seals that got damaged due to a PCV check valve failing at around 50K miles. The dipstick tube breaking off at the same time was just to add insult to injury. The car drove great though.

I really don't hate VW/Audi, we had an A8 that was flawless for the same period of time. This particular A4 had so many issues, it makes my blood boil 10 years later. We just recently considered a new A6.

Gotta love the gang of emissions hoses and check valves on the b5 cars.
I removed the factory vacuum hose mess and deleted all the emissions systems around 95k
Definitely helped with reliability imo

Yeah, that would have helped ours as well, that was my first experience with a PCV system designed for a force-fed engine.

You sure that is not Toyota engine? Here on BITOG it is impossible for VW engine to look like that and has that many miles!
