Car is driven heavily on the highways. Janice loves to visit everyone on the eastern seaboard

. A secondary note is janice is now running a completely custom cold air intake, with a K&N Oiled filter. This was Mobil1 SuperSyn (5w-30), with the stock mazda cartridge filter system.

This is UOA #6 for the 6i's, and UOA #17 for the Mazda 6 family.

Other UOA's on the 6's @...

As always, top link goes to the UOA, bottom link goes to the bob's analysis for easy viewing and comparison.

Good catch Al. Unless Mobil has changed their formula again.

I'll go out on a limb and say its Supertech Synthetic (Group III ) Pretty low tech with weak additive package, but seems to give good results

Mobil 1 has Moly...There's none here. Either you don't have Mobil 1 in or the lab made an error. If you are sure there is Mobil 1 in then have Blackstone re-do the report. If you had the dealer change it or another garage-go back them. They screwed you dude

Janice says...

"I'm 99.9% sure it was mobil1 5w-30 Supersyn. I bought the oil, and my father put it in"

In that case...cause the depleted moly be indicative of a TBN about to go horribly south?

Hmmm - that's odd. I remember Janice mentioning that non-synthetic oil was bought for this oil change, many months ago. Probably Castrol Syntec (whcih she has used before) or Mobil's non-sytnth that comes in the blue carton and blue bottles.

Deeper investigation is warranted - especially considering the otherwise incredibly excellent appearance of this UOA compared to other 6i UOAs, even with M1 0W20 SuperSyn.

You have to also remember ashu, that her last UOA was on the stock fill oil....which also happened to be the lowest wear metal UOA for the 6i's yet.

So it could just be her car. I'm pretty sure she put in 0w-20 this time, but now she's doing alot more short trips and no more 400 mile straight drives =/.

the extra bottle of oil in my car is 5w-30 from the last oil change... so i'm almost positive that the UOA is for that oil.

I agree with Al. The ad pack is definitely unlike any of the recent M1 5w30 UOAs that we've seen, even with more miles on them.
