Hey new guy here. I tried searching first before I asked the question, sorry if I missed the answer. Here is my question...

I was trying to pull the front axle on my 2003 Dodge 1500 (C205F differential) and decided to change the front diff oil while I was under there. Filled it with 75W-140. Well that is the weight for the rear diff. Should I drain the 75W-140 and put in the recommended 75W-90? Will the 75W-140 help or hurt anything?

75w140 will work but as far as I am aware 1500's only require 75w90. I would run it and if you ever put enough miles on it, put 90 weight in next change.

Is ther a MUST have mopar diff additive (something about the "posi" or whatever Dodge calls it) that this gen of trucks use in the rear?

You could easily double the OCI with 75W140 in this front axle differential.

Zeng; I ended up buying Petro-Canada 80w140 which has the exact same specs as Eaton's label. www.eaton.com good to at least -32C using the doubling per 5C rule of thumb.
Taxes in, $200 Canuck bucks for 20 liters.
